The Gamma Phi Chapter of Alpha Delta Pi was established at East Tennessee State University on November 10, 1954. As the first sorority at East Tennessee State, Alpha Delta Pi has enjoyed a reputation as one of the premier campus organizations for women for over 60 years and currently boasts a membership for over 1300 sisters.
The Gamma Phi Chapter of Alpha Delta Pi has long been regarded as an outstanding chapter in the region. The Gamma Phi Chapter has consistently received the Alpha Delta Pi international organization's Diamond Four-Point Award and received the Maxine Blake Golden Lion for the first time in 2009 and again in 2011, 2013, and 2015. The Chapter also received recognition for Excellence in the following areas: Recruitment, Total Membership Education, New Membership Education, Scholarship, Panhellenic, Finance, and Philanthropy. Alpha Delta Pi boasts the highest grade point average among fraternities and sororities on campus. Consistently above all-women's average at East Tennessee State, Alpha Delta Pi places great value on maintaining high scholastic standards.
